No stewardship

A spaceship without a captain, its crew lost in pleasures, power struggles, and material excess, while the control room’s alarms flash in vain. This is not even a dystopia; it is simply an honest description of reality.

The worst part is that those who sound the alarm are either ignored, ridiculed, or burned out from fighting against a vast, self-satisfied passivity. For it takes insight and a certain moral responsibility to act in time, and most people are simply not wired to think on such grand temporal and systemic scales.

The question is this: if you know the spaceship is heading toward suffocation, but also know the crew refuses to listen, what do you do?

Do you carve out a niche where you can breathe a little longer?

Do you seek out the few others who see it too and try to create something meaningful in a world that does not want to be saved?

Or do you surrender to the evolutionary autopilot and attempt to live a dignified life in the shadow of the inevitable?
