In the age when gods ruled both heaven and earth, balance governed all things. Osiris, the god of fertility, life, and renewal, reigned with justice and brought harmony to the world. Under his rule, the fields thrived, the rivers flowed in rhythm with the seasons, and life prospered. But the balance was shattered when his brother, Seth, god of chaos and storms, consumed by envy and ambition, plotted against him.
One night, Seth invited Osiris to a grand feast and lured him into a finely crafted chest. As Osiris lay inside, Seth sealed the chest and cast it into the depths of the Nile. With Osiris gone, the world began to unravel. The fields withered, the rivers shrank, and death spread its shadow across the land.
Osiris’ wife, Isis, searched tirelessly for Orisis’ body. Through her magic and devotion, she restored him partially to life. But Osiris could no longer dwell among the living. Instead, he descended to the underworld, becoming its king and a symbol of hope and rebirth for the souls of the dead.
In Osiris’ absence, Seth seized the throne. Yet his reign brought only desolation. The lands grew barren, and storms ravaged what remained. Chaos reigned where there had once been order. But Isis bore a son, Horus, who grew to challenge his uncle. Horus, with justice and the legacy of his father’s harmony burning in his heart, confronted Seth in a series of fierce battles.
Though Horus lost his eye in the struggle, he gained wisdom and resilience from the pain. After long and grueling conflict, the gods judged in Horus’ favor. He was crowned the rightful ruler of Egypt, restoring balance to the cosmos. Seth, defeated, was cast into the desert, where he ruled over barren, untamed lands, far from the light of civilization.
Let Horus be youth and activism rising against greed and shorttermism, demanding a future built on justice and sustainability.
Let Horus be international alliances striving to restore balance and cooperation in the face of division and dogma.
Let Horus be intellectual resistance, armed with critical thinking and reason, challenging the forces of inequality and ideological control.
And let Horus be the leaders of tomorrow, who will stand unwavering in the pursuit of harmony and a greener world for future generations of all species.
Let us be Horus.
